The Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion is a state-of-the-art multipurpose complex, housing four "sport court" combination basketball / volleyball courts, tennis courts and a large meeting room. The multipurpose athletics area and the large meeting room are available for leagues and clinics and may be rented for special events, based on availability. For more information, call (336) 373-4679 after 4 pm. A full-scale tennis program is conducted inside the Sports Pavilion during the fall and winter months and outside at other city tennis centers in the spring and summer. Barber Park Sprayground is adjacent to the new picnic shelter area at Barber Park. Among the new amenities at the sprayground are a restroom facility and concession stand. The sprayground will operate annually from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Hours of operation will be from 11 am to 6 pm Mondays through Saturdays and 1-6 pm on Sundays. Admission is free of charge.
